Fred Ward, the star of Tremors, The Right Stuff, dead at 79

“Tremors” actor Fred Ward has died at 79 years old, according to a statement from his publicist Ron Hoffman obtained by Access Hollywood.

“I am sad to announce the passing of acclaimed actor Fred Ward, who passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at age 79,” the statement said in part. No cause or place of death was disclosed.

Fred was known for his versatility as an actor, as he starred in many different roles over the years. He is survived by his wife, Marie-France Ward, and their son, Django Ward.

the statement said in part no cause or place of death was disclosed per his family’s wishes the San Diego native had been on the big screen since the early 1970s following three years of service in the u.s air force plus stints as a cook and a boxer and a lumberjack in Alaska.

Fred was known for his versatility as an actor as he started many different roles over the years including in the action spy film Remo Williams the adventure begins.

the Miami blues actor spent the last years of his life developing his second favorite art which was painting Fred is survived by his wife of 27 years Marie France ward and their son Jango ward.
